Jan Behrmann

After studying law at the Universities of Münster and Nijmegen, Jan Behrmann worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Public Commercial Law at the University of Münster (Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Ehlers) and at the Chair of Tax Law at the Helmut Schmidt University of Hamburg (Prof. Dr. Wernsmann). He completed his legal clerkship in the district of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court. In 2006, he joined the judiciary of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. He has been a presiding judge at Duisburg Regional Court since 2017, where he chairs a chamber for commercial matters. In the court administration, he heads the department for judges' personnel affairs.
