Kathrin Brei studied law in Bielefeld, 1996 first state examination, 1998 second state examination. Since 1998 research associate at the former chair of Prof. Dr. Fritz Jost for civil law, law relating to lawyers, legal structuring and legal sociology at Bielefeld University. 2004 doctorate and 2016 habilitation under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Fritz Jost. Since 2016 teaching at Bonn University (Lehrstuhlvertretungen).
