John Zuluaga studied law at the University of Antioquia (Medellín-Colombia). In 2011, he earned an Master of Laws (LL.M.) and in 2017 he completed his doctorate at the Georg-August University of Göttingen. He currently works as a university professor in Colombia and Latin America. He is an active member of numerous scientific cooperation initiatives with Germany, including being a founding member of the German-Latin American International Society of Criminal Sciences (in Spanish: SIGLA-CP). He is a regular visiting professor at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and a speaker at academic events in Latin America and Europe. His work lies mainly at the border between criminal procedural law and transitional justice, and includes comparative law studies in this framework.
