Wolfram Buchwitz

Wolfram Buchwitz is university professor of civil law, Roman law, comparative legal history and civil procedure at the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg. After studying law at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, he completed postgraduate studies in Roman law at the University »La Sapienza« in Rome. His dissertation on Roman law of succession was awarded the prize of the Institut de Droit Romain of the University Paris II Panthéon-Assas. His doctorate and subsequent habilitation with a topic in the history of procedural law took place at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. He was also a judge at the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt from 2019 to 2022.
